In addition to transaction specific work performed by members of the Firm, its attorneys have represented a range of independent governmental entities in more generalist capacities. Many of these entities find that outsourcing their general counsel role to be a cost effective approach to achieving input on governance and other legal matters confronted by these entities. Mr. Watts has served as Town Attorney for the Town of Princeville, Edgecombe County North Carolina. The Firm has represented the City of Durham, the County of Durham, and the City of Fayetteville on various matters, including civil litigation, commercial real estate, tax foreclosures, affordable housing, and tax exempt bonds. The Firm has been engaged as general counsel by a number of public housing authorities in North Carolina and South Carolina. The Firm has also represented the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority on a range of issues, including most notably human resources issues.
